"The Laughter of Dead Kings" by Elizabeth Peters

If you're looking for an entertaining mystery series to read, look no farther than the "Vicky Bliss" series by Elizabeth Peters. Actually ANYTHING by Elizabeth Peters is a great read.
In this series Vicky Bliss is an art historian and part time sleuth whose "on again/ off again" romance with Sir John Smythe gets her into many adventures. John is hunky but unfortunately is an art thief.
This book is sixth in the series and might answer the question of whether Vicky and John end up "happily ever after" and more importantly can John give up thievery and still make a living? I'll leave it to you to read it and find out.
One caution. You should read this series in the order the books are written to truly enjoy this last one. The other titles are (in order):
1. Borrower of the Night
2. Street of the Five Moons
3. Silhouette in Scarlett
4. Trojan Gold
5. Night Train to Memphis
6. Laughter of Dead Kings
