Emily's Ghost-a novel of the Bronte sisters by Denise Giardina

Did you ever wonder how a group of sheltered daughters of a local pastor came to write such stirring and passionate love stories? Denise Giardina's novel, while fiction, strives to answer this question.
This story is primarily about Emily Bronte who wrote "Wuthering Heights", but the rest of her family takes a strong part in the story. Emily is the sister who is the most unconventional and passionate of the sisters. She loves to take wandering walks on the moors, a place that makes her feel free.
Most of Emily's life is a struggle to fit in with the rest of society. She doesn't wish to marry or be a part of "society" but the strict conventions of her time period leave her limited choices on how to live her life.
The story takes off when the new curate arrives to help her father Patrick Bronte who is aging and experiencing failing health. William, the curate, is young and handsome and naturally all of the women are attracted to him. Except Emily. Or is she attracted as well? To find out what happens next you must read the book.
The book, while literary in nature, is a wonderful read with a fast moving story line. Once you start you will want to know how it all ends for Emily and her family.
