Twilight by Stephenie Meyer

This is the first of a trilogy that takes a different approach to the standard vampire story. Even though it's classified as a "young adult" novel it has much to keep all ages interested in the story.

As the story opens, 17 year old Bella Swan has relocated to the gloomy, overcast town of Forks in the Olympic peninsula to live with her father Charlie. Her mother Renee has just remarried and moved to Florida. Bella wants her mother to have time alone with her new husband and spend more time with her father.

At school she meets the members of the Cullen family who are all blond and outrageously attractive. In particular it is Edward who catches Bella's eye and eventually captures her heart. But who exactly are the Cullens? Does Bella really want to believe what she finds out about them?
Part romance, part horror story, Bella and Edwards adventures will keep you reading whether you're 20 or 40.
